Transforming Stillness – Indiana Dunes, 2021. 
Intentional Camera Movement appears as careless smears of light transforming the obvious into unrecognizable marks. The image reveals the unknown and unpredictable outcome of esthetic beauty asking for its meaning. Recording light from intuitive knowing pushes me to explore the territory between seeing an image and capturing it. Transforming what is – into the possibility of what it can become, serves as an attempt to create a conscious bond with the transcendent elements of nature that leads me to the essence of simplicity and the poetic sensibility of beauty.

Do you ever wonder about what happens to people you encounter while traveling?  How deep is your memory of them and how do they impact what you experience?
As a photographer, I have gathered quite a few images of faces and moments in time, but this photograph of the Mayan girl in Guatemala, a quiet vendor by the Lake Atitlan has captivated me over the last decade. I remember that day so clearly.  I saw her from a distance while walking towards the boat which tours around the lake.  The spherical shapes of baskets surrounded a small and undisturbed figure resting in the center and blending with textures around her.  A split second of a shutter created a memory of the entry into Lake Atitlan.  While away from the shore, in the center of the lake, with mountains and volcanoes around it,  I felt the silent humanity of enduring beauty.
